What REALLY ring around the rosie?

Someone told me that the whole ring of Rosie is a song about suicide because rosie means fire pit death, or explosion, possibly a powder that makes things explode, the ashes are people dying in the fire, and "we all fall down" is "We all die." Is this true or is a liar and rotten old?

Not many interpretations, but the most common focuses on the Great Plague. Many have associated the poem with the Great Plague of London in 1665, or earlier outbreaks of bubonic plague in England. The performers of the song before the Second World War no mention of this, in 1951, however, seems to have become well established as an explanation of how the rhyme that had become standard the United Kingdom. A rosy rash, they said, was a symptom of the plague, posies of herbs were carried protecting, sneezing is a final fatal symptom, and "All Fall Down" was exactly what happened.
